Every night when Laura goes to sleep, she has a vision of a beautiful woman crawling through her window. One night, a woman shows up at her front door, and Laura is swept into the trance of the vampire Carmilla. Inspired by Carmilla, the 1872 Gothic novella by Sheridan Le Fanu — one of the early works of vampire fiction — this dance-theatre piece closely examines the archetype of the lesbian vampire. This work aims to explore the beauty, sexuality, and horror associated with vampirism and female sexuality while dancing through a late-night rave.
